The following are suggested preparatory actions to prepare for full-hookup winter camping at Shamrock Park:

• Check specific actions recommended in your camper’s manual.

• See our skirting policy located on this website for protecting the bottom of your camper to prevent freezing. Check to see what will work best for your specific camper.

• You should have a heated hose that will prevent water from freezing in your line from our water hookup to your camper inlet.

Heat tape should be utilized if you choose not to use a heated hose.

Insulate every part of your water source for your camper. Even a little exposed part can result in a frozen line.

• Be sure to shut the valve to your black water tank as it can freeze. Your sewer hose should be well supported and run downhill.

• A water splitter is not allowed as it will cause freezing.

• Choose your fuel source: electric or propane. Compare costs.

• multi-sensor thermometer monitors the temperature in your RV.

• Keep water/snow off your slides to prevent malfunction.

• We use heat rods so our water service won’t freeze; once your water line is set, frost/snow will help seal the perimeter of the protective “green box”.

This is a good but not exhaustive list. Do your own research for your needs.
